Raise awareness of student foot traffic with our S1-1 School sign!
S1-1 School signs, also known as “School Pedestrian Crossing” signs, are used to warn drivers that they’re approaching a school area, and therefore, young pedestrians may be nearby. Without using a single word, school traffic signs convey the message that motorists should reduce their speed and keep an eye out for children and teenagers.
Transline’s traffic signs are specifically designed to be weather-, crack-, and fade-resistant, which ensures that they’ll stay crisp, vibrant, and clearly readable for years to come. Please note that S1-1 specifically refers to pentagon-shaped school signs that depict two figures walking together. Browse our product catalog to view our full selection of regulatory signs, or contact us for more information about ordering custom-designed signs.
According to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), S1-1 signs can be used “to warn road users that they are approaching a school area that might include school buildings or grounds, a school crossing, or school related activity adjacent to the highway.” Always check relevant local laws and ordinances prior to purchasing and installing traffic signs. Specific signs may require a minimum reflectivity of “high intensity” or greater.
Freestanding sign posts (as well as installation hardware) are all sold separately. Our selection of sign posts can be viewed in our product catalog’s ‘Traffic Sign Hardware’ section.
