W16-7PR specifically indicates a downward diagonal arrow showing a pedestrian crossing point.
W16-7P signs are meant to be used with W11-2 Pedestrian signs. While the W11-2 signs announce to drivers to be alert for pedestrians crossing the road, the W16-7P sign enhances this warning by indicating the exact crossing point.
Note: W16-7P signs are not reversible. W16-7PR has a downward diagonal right arrow, while W16-7PL has a downward diagonal left arrow. Please confirm which sign you need before ordering.
HOW TO USE:
According to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), a W16-7P sign should be used in conjunction with a W11-2 sign when the W11-2 sign is placed at the crossing point. However, these signs should not be used if the W11-2 sign is mounted overhead. Additionally, the W16-7P sign must never obscure the W11-2 sign.
Before purchasing and installing traffic signs, always check the relevant local laws and ordinances. Some signs may legally require a minimum level of “high intensity” reflectivity or even better.
Please note that freestanding signposts and installation hardware are sold separately. Our selection of signposts is in the ‘Traffic Sign Hardware‘ section of our products.
